The Dell Server Management Pack Suite v4.0 enables System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) R2/SP1 and System Center Essentials (SCE) SP1 to Discover, Monitor and accurately depict the status of Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault Servers, Dell Remote Access Controllers (DRAC) and Chassis Management Controllers (CMC) on a defined network segment.

Dell recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains feature enhancements or changes that will help keep your system software current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers and software).

* Dell Management Pack version 4.0 is supported on System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2/SP1 and System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 only. It does not function with prior releases of the MOM product.
* Upgrades from previous Dell MP v 3.x to Dell MP v4.0 are not supported.

Dell Server Management Pack Suite v4.0 (A00) provides:
- Improvements in scalability and performance over the previous releases by including:
* Server Scalable MP (for managing large enterprise environments)
* Server Detailed MP (addon MP that provides detailed instance level monitoring)
- Performance and Power monitoring and OpenManage 6.1 support for Dell Server MPs
- DRAC and CMC MPs to monitor Dell Remote Access Controllers and Chassis Management Controllers
- Override utility to enable Informational alerts for managed Dell Servers

Dell Server Management Pack Suite v4.0 for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager R2/SP1 and System Center Essentials SP1

File Descriptions:

The version 4.0 release consists of four Management Packs:
1) (Dell.WindowsServer.Scalable.mp) - Dell Windows Server Scalabe Management Pack for light weight scalable server discovery, monitoring and alert management of Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault Windows Servers.
2) (Dell.WindowsServer.Detailed.mp) - Dell Windows Server Detailed Management Pack for detailed discovery, monitoring and alert management of Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault Windows Servers and its components.
3) (Dell.OutOfBand.DRAC.mp) - Dell Remote Access Controller Management Pack for discovery, monitoring and trap processing of Dell Remote Access Controller 4, Dell Remote Access Controller 5 and Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 6.
4) (Dell.OutOfBand.CMC.mp) - Dell Chassis Management Controller Management Pack for discovery, monitoring, and trap processing of Chassis Management Controllers and Dell Modular Chassis Remote Access Controllers.

Two utilities:
1) (Dell.Connections.HardwareLibrary.mp) - Dell Base folder utility for the basic folder structure and Root node.
2) (Dell.WindowsServer.InformationAlertsOn.mp) - Dell Overrides utility for turning 'ON' the Informational Alerts provided in the Scalable Management Pack.

Custom Instructions for Dell_Server_Management_Pack_Suite_v4.0_A00.exe:

1. Download the file to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable.
2. Go to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the executable to unzip the files. The default extraction folder is "C:\Dell Management Packs\Server Mgmt Suite\4.0". You may select a different location for file extraction by editing the path.
3. Follow the installation instructions in the User Guide and readme file included.
